SPECIAL PROJECTS
When it comes to special projects no one executes and delivers like Salt & Pepper. We’ve worked on every type of project imaginable, whether it be show premier mailers, v.i.p. mailers, promotional mailers, gift programs for experiential events, brand launches, location openings, weddings, seminars, and the list goes on. You have been in business since 2015 and you will not find a more seasoned team to see your project through to completion.
Case Study When The Circuit of The Americas (COTA) reached out for help creating a unique gift for all the Formula 1 drivers taking part in the US Grand Prix, Salt & Pepper answered.
Beginning with a phone call and initial consultation, we discuss the client’s direction, inspiration, and rough budget. From here we begin pulling together our initial concepts incorporating the notes and direction from our consultation. Once the initial concepts are approved we start prototyping. Our prototyping begins with our experienced design team and results in generating our initial digital models of our gift concept. We generate 3-D exact models of the gift using industry best software to ensure the client gets a true sense of the product. For COTA, we took inspiration with the digital on screen graphics shown on Sky Sports displaying driver position and time intervals you see during broadcast. Using exact fonts, dimensions, and proportions as the graphics allowed us to create not just a box but a small tribute to the sport.
At the same time design is working on initial concepts and renders, our project management team is working to curate and source products and materials for the gift and box construction. Every detail down to paper, linen, laminate, inserts, embossing, debossing, etc, is scrutinized and examined by our project team to understand impacts to timing and scheduling. Throughout the process we are in constant communication with the client, reviewing our initial concepts and designs. Tweaking and modifying until we feel satisfied in our result. Once the design is finalized, next begin to move into production.
We begin production by initiating the purchase and sourcing of product. For COTA, the product gifted was an old school record player with personally curated vinyl records. We researched and identified recommended artists and songs from each driver’s publicly available song lists on different music streaming platforms. We then found vendors to purchase the vinyls with original record covers.
We ensure we have adequate material on hand to begin box constructions. We look at our production schedule and start to schedule our production runs to ensure that we have adequate lead time. This helps to communicate key deadlines to our clients and ensure everyone is aware of deliverables and due dates. Once we have sourced product and completed production on our boxes, next is fulfillment. We start with a production run to “manufacture” the completed gift with all products, inserts, personalized cards, etc. Once finished, its over to our shipping department where we hand pack each shipment to ensure that the quality of the product never suffers during shipping and the gift arrives on time and as expected.
DESIGN
Our in-house designers will work with your team to ideate, design, and create custom packaging. We work closely with each client to ensure your design is bespoke and on-brand. We start by doing an initial phone call to learn about the project. From there, we ideate ideas and put concept and mood boards together for review. Once we like the overall direction, we will render and show you the packaging in 3D. Phase one typically takes 25 to 100 hours, but that depends on the project scope.

PRODUCTION
Once the design concepts are finalized, we move into production. The S&P team will handle all technical drawings and print-ready files. We will create a prototype of the box and make any necessary adjustments. You will have a dedicated account manager who will work with you on overall project management and oversee production to ensure we are on track, within budget, and hitting the creative mark. Phase two typically takes 75 to 200 hours, depending on the project scope.
